KC Soccerdome History
The Kansas City Soccer Dome was the first Indoor Soccer Facility in the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan area. Originally built buy A.L. Huber General Contractors as an Indoor Tennis Facility with 4 courts, a bar, a pro shop and lockers. The building design was later copied and used to build two similar facilities in Springfield Missouri (Lake Country Soccer Dome) and St. Louis Missouri (Vetta Sports Soccerdome). In 1982 the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) was growing dramatically in popularity and the sport of Indoor Soccer was making it’s footprints in numerous markers across the United States. The Kansas City Soccer Dome was established in 1982 and immediately formed a partnership with the Kansas City Comets of the MISL.
After being The Official Training Facility for over 20 years to the Kansas City Comets and the Kansas City Attack. The Soccer Dome found a new professional indoor team to be a tenant. The Kansas City Brigade Football Team of the Arena Football League called the Dome its home. Having established a heritage of over 25 years, The Kansas City Soccer Dome maintains a tradition of excellence in serving the soccer community of Kansas City. The Dome is proud to offer this tradition and state-of-the-art facility for youth and adults to enjoy the sport of soccer year round.
The Dome has become an institution in Kansas City, and a true Kansas City Soccer Establishment.
